Contractors around the nation are registering with US Federal Contractor Registration to be prepared for a brutal hurricane season as stated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or better known as NOAA. As hurricane season starts to get back into swing, NOAA has declared this season to be one for the record books. NOAA has released forecasts that anticipate the occurrence of over 13 hurricanes this season.
In the world of government contracting, registerer contractors are called into action during large storms that are are believed to cause massive amounts of damage. These relief efforts are placed up for bid by the federal government to contract businesses to help with the relief. However, every business must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) in order to aid with the relief efforts. US Federal Contractor Registration (USFCR) is the world’s largest third party registration firm that registers businesses to become eligible for FEMA contracts and other contracting opportunities. USFCR also connects businesses with procurement officers to aid with hurricane and other natural disaster relief. This ‘strong season’ as declared by Dr. Gerry Bell, Lead Seasonal Hurricane Forecaster at NOAA is foreshadowing plenty of factors to attribute the season to be troublesome. “As far as predicting an active season, we’re usually pretty accurate at that,” stated a confident Dr. Bell in a report with NPR.
With Hurricane Sandy still in the back of our minds, families and businesses must not forget to be over prepared for this season. Especially considering that NOAA is anticipating over 13 hurricanes potentially making their way to the American coast. According to USASpending.gov, Hurricane Sandy has caused billions of dollars in damages, including spending close to $200 million just to repair the damaged MTA Subway System in New York City. With this many hurricanes being foreseen this season, contractors have all ready begun registering with US Federal Contractor Registration to conduct their government registration to aid FEMA.

US Federal Contractor Registration has registered thousands of businesses in SAM as well as developed FEMA Vendor Profiles for businesses. “I really cannot stress enough how important it is to be registered and registered properly in order to receive these contracts once FEMA posts them to FBO (fbo.gov). Just like Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Irene before her, the American people will stand up and help each other to rebuild our beloved country. We make sure that every business who seeks out our help is available to aid the federal government when we as a nation need it the most. We make sure our flag keeps flying high for all to see even in the mist of turmoil during these disasters.
