Federal Computer Week published a great article this week about reverse auction sites such as Fedbid.com. The article points out the cost and time saving features of reverse auctions, which are rather attractive as federal agencies try to trim their budgets in light of Congress’s deficit reduction goals. However, reverse auctions are not appropriate for every procurement; many services or purchases that require flexibility could not be effectively obtained through reverse auctions.
Have you used Fedbid or any other reverse auction service as either a buyer or seller? What did you think of it? Did you run into any problems using it? Let us know in the comments.
